News and Announcements

Well, here we are once again having to make decisions we really don’t want to make.

We were hopeful that we would be able to join all of you on the diamonds this season, however, with the current stay-at-home order, increasing Covid numbers and the more transmissible variants, we’ve come to the realization that a regular season of softball won’t be possible again this year.

We will continue to monitor the situation, and should things improve greatly by the end of the summer, we will look at the option of providing a few fun weekends of play.

Keep your eye on our website and Facebook page for further updates.

To Our Softball Family – Feb 2021

With the uncertainty of another softball season hanging over our heads, we just wanted to reach out and let you know that we are still here and are doing what we can to keep our organization alive and well.
For those of you who are unaware, we have partnered with Bingo World and Gaming Centre in Newmarket to increase our fundraising efforts. Even during this pandemic, we have been able to secure some funding to put towards the purchase of some much-needed new equipment. As things begin to re-open, we are hoping this fundraising stream will allow the league to grow and prosper.
For all of you who are on-line shopping while locked down at home, remember to give Flip-Give a try. It can be accessed through our website and is similar to Rakuten, where a portion of the proceeds goes back to the league.
We have not opened on-line registration as of yet, however if you are currently not a member, but are thinking of registering your child as soon as we are allowed to be back on the diamonds, please send me an email, president@lsmsa, so that we can add you to our emailing list.

It is with heavy hearts that the executive wishes to extend its deepest sympathies to the Ennis family on the passing of Scott on Thursday September 10th. Scott has been our sergeant at arms for many years and has served the LSMSA community relentlessly, volunteering at BBQs, repairing and maintaining the equipment, working tirelessly to improve the league. Scott will be missed by all of us.

Visitation will be held at M.W. Becker Funeral Home in Keswick on Friday September 18th from 2:00 to 4:00 and 7:00 to 9:00 p.m. A private family service will be held on Saturday.

June 8, 2020
To our entire LSMSA family,
It is with great sadness and regret that the executive of LSMSA has made the difficult decision to cancel the 2020 season of softball. With the extension of the state of emergency in Ontario, the restrictions on the number of people allowed at gatherings and the on-going closure of Town facilities, we will not be able to provide the caliber of ball you have become accustomed to. Although we will miss our time on the diamonds, the health and safety of all of those involved must be our top priority.
If you have already paid registration for this season, you will be given the option of a full refund or the holding over of your registration funds for next year. In the event that registration fees increase for 2021, and you decide to let LSMSA hold your funds, you will not be charged any further increases.
Should you opt for a refund, please email to arrange for the appropriate method of refund. Please be patient as this process may take some time to complete.
If this was to be your final year of play in our league, due to aging out, a special exemption will be made, so that you can play your final year in 2021.
For further information and updates about the league, please refer to our website or Facebook page.
On behalf of the entire LSMSA executive, thank you for your support and understanding during these unprecedented times.
Stay safe and hope to see all of you back on the diamonds in 2021!

Corinne Ennis
President, LSMSA
